CCC BUSINESS PARTNERS

The following is a list of some of the college's business partners and the variety of ways that Contra Costa College and its business partners prepare students and our community for success

KAISER PERMANENTE

For many years Kaiser Permanente has partnered with the college by supporting our nursing program with funds to purchase supplies, equipment, and even a  clinical nursing instructor. This has helped the college provide more students the opportunity to complete the Nursing program and enter the work force as Registered Nurses.  We are proud of our ongoing partnership with Kaiser Permanente to provide our community and students with high quality, trained nurses.

CHEVRON RICHMOND REFINERY

The college and Chevron corporation have partnered together in many ways over numerous years.

Researchers from Chevron have been industry Board Members for the college's MESA  program which helps students develop their college skills and career interests. Chevron (as well as Clorox Company) has also provided summer interships.

Chevron and the college's career-technical programs have worked together to provide highly successful career events at the college to introduce our students to careers with Chevron.

The college, Chevron, and East Bay Municipal Utility District are developing a series of courses to better prepare community members who are interested in employment with these industries.  Then CCC students who complete specific courses will be optimally prepared for employment at Chevron or or EBMUD.

WEST CONTRA COSTA BUSINESS DEVELOPMENT CENTER

The Business Development Center (BDC), which helps to develop businesses in our community, partnered with CCC to develop and offer a class on how to start a restaurant or food service business. The Culinary Arts class had well known, local restaurateurs as guest speakers to inspire future business owners. The BDC provided information on business loans, site selection, and locations and sources for professional kitchens and equipment. In the first year, 17 students completed the program and are on their way to business success. We expect this partnership to grow more restaurant and food service business each year.
