Swinging for Scholarships – October 1, 2012
The 13th annual Sy and Beverly Zell Swinging for Scholarships Golf Tournament was held on October 1, 2012 at the Mira Vista Golf and Country Club. The success of our golf tournament has allowed the CCC Foundation Board of Directors to continue giving to student scholarships and to provide support for CCC programs and services as well. Greg Feere from the Contra Costa Building Trades Council and Bob Alvarado from Nor Cal Caprenters Regional Council were honored at the evening dinner. Scholarship recipient, Maja Oblepias, presented a heartfelt testimony at the dinner about the scholarships she received and they will help her to continue her education. The Foundation raised over $95,000 this year thanks to the support of our generous sponsors. The weather was beautiful and a good time was had by all participants.
